Meet the Riverview Pointe Care Center Team



Our management team is dedicated to overseeing the day to day operations of resident care. Each member of our team brings passion and dedication to the work that they do. Individually, each manager's education and expertise help make a well balanced and experienced team.



Austin Engel, LNHA - Administrator

Austin joined our team in 2024 after earning his LNHA. He has been with the company since 2020, starting as a laundry and dietary aide before moving into roles as a receptionist at Avon Place and a Payroll Processor at our corporate office. After completing his AIT at Brunswick Pointe and passing his boards, Austin knew his passion was in leading skilled nursing facilities. He lives in North Ridgeville with his fiancée, his high school sweetheart, and takes pride in making a difference every day as an Administrator.

Kim Whitfield, RN - Director of Nursing

Kim began her nursing career in 2011 and has been a dedicated member of the company ever since. With a strong passion for patient care and leadership, she proudly serves as the Director of Nursing at Riverview Pointe Care Center. Kim is committed to fostering a positive, supportive environment for both residents and staff and takes pride in helping others grow professionally. She believes Riverview Pointe is a great place to work, learn, and thrive. Outside of work, Kim enjoys reading, traveling, and embracing new experiences that broaden her perspective.

Jackie Santos - Assistant Director of Nursing

Jackie has been a Registered Nurse for nine years. She has been with Riverview Pointe for six of those years and oversees two of our long-term care wings, including our Memory Care unit, Serenity Circle. Jackie loves spending time getting to know the residents and enjoys making their days as bright as they can be. Outside of work, she has started raising chickens and currently has six that lay eggs for her. She also has two boys, a husband, and they all love to be outside as much as they can!

Tanairrica Witten - Assistant Director of Nursing

Tanairrica is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with over 20 years of diverse healthcare experience providing compassionate, patient-centered care across assisted living, skilled nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation settings. She is the Assistant Director of Nursing on our Skilled/Rehabilitation units with proven expertise in clinical assessment, medication administration, care coordination, wound management, and chronic disease monitoring. Tanairrica is dedicated to providing the best care and service for all residents who come to Riverview Pointe.

Ashley Montalvo - Unit Manager

Ashley has been a valued member of the Riverview Pointe team since 2009, starting her career as an STNA before becoming a nurse in 2012. In 2021, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing and now oversees Kingston Gardens and Comfort Lane. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing at her seasonal campsite in Catawba. She is proud to have spent her entire healthcare career at Riverview Pointe and remains dedicated to serving its residents and families.

Sara Mallery - Human Resources Director

Sara spent time at Riverview as an intern from August 2020 - March 2021, and after working in Admissions and Medical Records, she transitioned into Human Resources. She likes learning new things about each position, as they are very different. Sara graduated from Kent State University in 2020 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her boyfriend and dog, Kobe, going to different parks.

Laura Upson, LSW - Social Services Director

Laura graduated from the University of Akron in 1992 with a degree in Social Work and has been in healthcare since 1996. Though she didn’t plan to work with the elderly, it’s now her passion. She’s held roles as an Administrator, Regional Social Worker, and worked in hospice, but her favorite role is facility social work—building relationships and advocating for residents and families. Originally from Elyria, Laura has lived in Strongsville since 1998. She and her husband Matt have been together for 35 years and have a daughter, Lindsay, who’s a sophomore at Kent State. She’s a die-hard Browns fan, a Playhouse Square season ticket holder, and loves spending summers by the pool or traveling to the islands.

Jenn Allen - Social Services Designee

Jenn has been with Riverview Pointe since July 2024. Prior to that, she worked at another long-term care facility and a long-term acute care hospital, all since 2016. Jenn enjoys working in Social Services because she is able to help patients and families navigate these uncharted waters known as, long-term care. She graduated from Kent State University in 2008 with a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies. Jenn has a husband and two children who are both very involved in sports where she spends her time with them on and off the field. She also loves taking walks with her pup, Rudy, a golden lab/shepherd.

Bailey Shee - Medical Records Director

Bailey graduated from Ohio University in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Health Administration. After completing a 10-week internship at Riverview following graduation, she began her career as an Admissions Director at a sister facility. In 2025, she transitioned to Medical Records at Riverview, where she enjoys supporting residents and the care team. Outside of work, Bailey enjoys spending time with her cat, family, friends, and trying new restaurants.

Yasmine Sorace - Admissions Director

Yasmine has been an Admissions Director since 2014 and has been working in long term care since the age of 18, beginning her career as a dietary aide before moving into reception. Her passion for senior care started even earlier as she grew up around nursing facilities where her mother worked and often brought her along from a young age. Those experiences helped shape her love for building meaningful connections with residents and their families. Today, her favorite part of admissions is guiding families through the transition process and helping them feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their decisions.

Brenda Deal - Housekeeping Supervisor

Brenda has over 20 years of experience working in nursing homes with a background in both nursing assistant and housekeeping. She is proud to be part of the Riverview team and enjoy working together to provide the best possible care and service for our residents. She values hard work, teamwork, and making a positive difference every day.

Chris Belford - Business Office Manager

Chris has been with Riverview Pointe since March of 2018 as our Business Office Manager. She has spent many years working with accounts payable and receivable and with residents and their trust funds.

Chris plans to retire in a few years and continue making her own wines. She enjoys taking long rides on her motorcycle with her husband and is always up for trying new things. She especially loves to spend time with her four grandsons.

Betsy Robinson - Staffing Coordinator and Central Supply

Betsy has been a dedicated member of the Riverview Pointe Care Center team since 2010, beginning her career as an STNA. In 2024, she was promoted to Central Supply Coordinator and Clinical Staffing Coordinator, where she continues to support both residents and staff with compassion and professionalism. Known for her kindness and strong work ethic, Betsy is a valued part of the Riverview Pointe family. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with her two boys.

Mary George-Potting - Activities Director

Mary has been a part of Riverview since nearly the beginning! She started in 2007 in housekeeping and laundry and then joined the activities department where she has grown ever since. She said that activities has been the best job she has ever had. Mary enjoys spending time with her large family and special friends, taking drives, and taking pictures. Going to church and time spent with her Lord is very important to her. She also animal sits for families and friends.

Rebecca Lawrence, RN – MDS Coordinator

Rebecca began her career in long-term care in 2004 as an STNA while attending the RN program at LCCC. Over the years, she has held various nursing roles and now serves as the MDS Coordinator. She loves working in long-term care for the meaningful connections she builds with residents and their families. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Much of her free time is spent at the horse barn, where her kids sponsor horses through Angel Haven Horse Rescue, or at the soccer field cheering on her son. A former Jr. Dragster racer, Rebecca now enjoys watching her son, brothers, and nieces race on weekends.

Leland Jernigan – Director of Dining Services

Leland Jernigan comes to us with over 20 years of experience in different dietary roles. The last three of them were in healthcare, and prior to that, he worked as a Restaurant Manager. Outside of work, you can catch Leland spending time with his wife and children doing anything his youngest daughter wants. He also enjoys taking care of his mom, who is also his whole world.

"I love to have a purpose, and we make a difference. I have a real passion for cooking, people look forward to eating my food, and I love that people can enjoy something that I created."

Kim Nolan – MDS Coordinator

Kim is our MDS Coordinator and has been a part of the Riverview family since 2008. She has experience working on many specialty units including Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care, Ventilator Care, Pediatric/MRDD care, MS care and skilled nursing. She really enjoys helping families and residents. Kim is married with two kids who she loves to watch play sports, soccer and lacrosse. She also enjoys going to her parents lake house and vacationing with her family.

Mark Uline - Maintenance Director

Mark has been the Riverview Maintenance Director since 2017. Prior to that, he retired, after 35 years, from doing Maintenance in all 10 Westlake City Schools buildings. He has expert knowledge of heating and cooling and remodeling, as that is what he originally went to school for. You can find Mark fixing just about anything at Riverview. He loves to spend time with his beautiful wife, two daughters, three grandkids and his many pets at home!
