Celebrating a Century
February 10, 2021
At Riverview Pointe we are fortunate to have the opportunity to be with our residents during some of their biggest life moments. This week we celebrated a very special 100th Birthday for our resident, Asta Reid!
Asta was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the 50's she moved around to Canada, Ohio, Washington, California, then settled here in Northeast Ohio. She would work extra at Berea Title Bureau and May Company so she could go to Denmark to visit her family.

Asta and her husband (who she lost in 2017) spend their honeymoon at the Grand Canyon. She is a proud mother of Elise and her grand-puppy, Molly. She taught herself English; how to speak as well as read and write it. She enjoyed donating her time and money to different charities, animal ones are her passion.
Asta loved to country line dance and to host dinner parties, where she was known for her Denmark Danishes. She would also take the history of a friend and make a song tribute to them and they would all sing to a famous tune they all knew. She also did needle work, crocheting and was an avid reader. She likes watching male ice figure skating and Ninja Warriors.
Through 100 years of life Asta found ways to make every moment her own, filling the lives of her friends and family with love and joy.  Her resilience is inspiring.  We are thrilled to be able to share this milestone with you.  Happy 100th Birthday Asta!
