November Resident of the Month

Riverview Pointe is happy to shine our spotlight on our Resident of the Month for November, Gennia Mae Lazar!

Gennia was born in West Virginia but was raised here in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked at Kaiser, was a Secretary for a nursing home and officiated marriages. She herself was married for 24 years to her husband, Mark, before he passed away from cancer. The couple loved traveling and going to Niagara Falls and New York City. Together they have four girls and one boy. Gennia's family is still growing, with ten grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren! She also had a dog named Cheyanne that would win prizes for doing tricks like riding a skateboard. Gennia gets so happy when her family visits, but mostly when they take her out to explore the town. Gennia is most proud for keeping a strong faith in God after everything she's been through. Her favorite verse is, “Be still and know I am God”.



Gennia has always loved to cook, especially her cabbage rolls. We are coming up on Gennia's favorite time of the year, Christmas! Christmas is her favorite holiday because she used to have her kids sit in a rocking chair and open their gifts one at a time and made sure that they would give thanks to whoever they came from.

Gennia appreciates the staff and the friends she has made here at Riverview Pointe. Some of her favorite games she likes to do here are bowling, volleyball, reading and the "Flip-It" card game. She also enjoys going to activities and spending time with everyone.
