Olmsted Falls Nursing Home Walks to End Alzheimer's
October 11, 2019Riverview Pointe participated in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo this month. Staff, residents, families, and volunteers donated their time and money over the past year to meet the fundraising goal. The Riverview Team raised over $900 through bake sales, T-shirt sales, and generous donations. Several facility staff members and their families, along with our Medical Director, Dr. Dohar, gathered for a beautiful morning walk at the zoo. The weather was great and the company was even better.
At Riverview Pointe, we are especially touched by the work of the Alzheimer’s Association and have hope that one day there will be a cure for the disease. Our facility takes pride in the care we provide on our Serenity Circle unit, which is a memory care environment designed to help residents who suffer from this disease.
Serenity Circle, our memory unit, has 29 private suites with private bathrooms to accommodate the specific needs of the residents on this unit. Riverview Pointe caregivers are specially trained in caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Our activity program is designed to enrich the lives of the residents through music, crafts, and one-on-one programming.
We look forward to increasing our fundraising goal for 2020 and look forward to walking again to support the cause!
At Riverview Pointe Care Center, we are so fortunate to have such incredible caregivers the support our residents and families. We believe our "Culture of Care" extends beyond the walls of our nursing home and always have a great time with our Olmsted Falls neighbors.
